The 1970s Oval

Why is it key? The softness that permeates the
Considered Comfort trend for this season is echoed
in this soft, rounded and impactful design. Move
away from small round sunglasses styles for
women, and take advantage of the consumer
willing to wear larger frames again.
The #70 inspiration is apparent here, in line with the
revival of vintage, but it stops short of making this a
novelty frame.
Design details: instead of a true
round silhouette, ensure that the oval
shape is defined. By using thick,
graduating acetate, there is
opportunity to introduce recycled
plastics and alternative materials as a
feature. The slightly bulbous profile
also allows for embellishment or
contrast material panels, as seen at
Kaleos.
